St.Benedict's abbey was founded by the Flemish Province of the Subiaco Congregation in 1906 in Magoebaskloof, transferred to Pietersburg and in 1974 again transferred to Ga-Molepo ("Subiaco"), 40 km north of Polokwane, capital of the Northern Province (Limpopo).
